In the faraway kingdom of Persia, there lived a righteous man named Mordechai. He served at the king's gate, faithfully carrying out his duties and always striving to do what was right.

One day, Mordechai discovered a secret plot. Two palace guards were planning to assassinate the king. Mordechai immediately informed Queen Esther, who relayed the warning to the king. Because of Mordechai's courage, the king's life was saved. His good deed was recorded in the royal chronicles, although he received no reward at that time.

Later, a proud man named Haman was promoted to become the king's highest official. He demanded that everyone bow down to him, but Mordechai refused because he worshipped only God. This refusal filled Haman with anger.

Consumed by pride and hatred, Haman devised a terrible plan. He sought not only to kill Mordechai but to destroy all the Jewish people throughout the Persian Empire. Confident that his scheme would succeed, he even had a massive wooden pole prepared specifically for Mordechai's execution.

But God worked in a remarkable way. One night, the king could not sleep and ordered the royal records to be read aloud. As they were read, he discovered that Mordechai had once saved his life and realized that no reward had ever been given to him.

The next morning, the king instructed Haman himself to lead a grand procession honoring Mordechai. Haman was forced to lead Mordechai's horse through the city, proclaiming, "This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!"

Haman was deeply humiliated, but justice was not yet complete. Soon afterward, Queen Esther revealed to the king that she was Jewish and that Haman had plotted to destroy her people. Shocked and enraged, the king ordered Haman to be executed on the very pole he had prepared for Mordechai.

The evil plan Haman had carefully devised turned back upon him, and the trap he had set for an innocent man became the instrument of his own downfall.

Message

Even against seemingly impossible odds, one person can accomplish great things through courage, faith, and a willingness to stand up for what is right. Pride and hatred ultimately lead to destruction, while humility, integrity, and trust in God bring honor and deliverance.
